Our recommendation in brief
The P7 Core is a candidate when replaceable batteries and adjustable beam focus matter more than built-in charging. MainBuyer has not independently tested its output or runtime.
Read the specification correctly
Ledlenser identifies model 502180 as using four AAA alkaline batteries. It quotes 450 lumens with a one-hour runtime at the highest listed setting, versus 40 lumens and 25 hours at low power. These are different modes; this is not a claim of 450 lumens for 25 hours.
The manufacturer lists adjustable focus and IP54 protection. Do not treat that rating as permission to immerse the torch.
MainBuyer assessment
Replaceable cells are useful when a charger is unavailable, and the lower setting may be the more relevant mode for close household tasks. That is an inference from the design and specifications; we have not measured how brightness changes during a discharge.
A handheld torch occupies a hand. If you expect to carry a child, prepare food or work on a task, compare the role of a head torch or lantern before paying for a more powerful handheld light.
Before ordering
Check for P7 Core / 502180 rather than a similarly named rechargeable model. Include the right spares in your household inventory. Confirm seller, included accessories and final delivered price on Amazon.
