The vacuum uses automatic sensing for floor type, dirt, edges and ambient light, adjusting suction or illumination while it cleans. Its charging dock empties the onboard bin into a larger base container, reducing how often the user handles concentrated dust.
The stick itself is easier to lift and steer than the Stratos or PowerDetect, making it attractive for stairs, quick daily cleaning and smaller homes. The cleaner head is compact and the controls are straightforward, but the lighter construction does not feel as substantial as Shark's larger premium models. The base remains a floor-standing object that needs a socket and cannot disappear into a narrow wall-mounted storage space. Buyers should confirm whether the selected package includes a motorised pet tool, because this can materially change its usefulness on upholstery and stairs.
Cleaning performance
The Detect Pro is strongest as a frequent-maintenance vacuum. Automatic suction responds well to ordinary dust, crumbs and transitions between hard flooring and rugs, while edge detection helps the machine concentrate effort beside skirting boards. Its floorhead lighting adapts to surrounding brightness, making debris easier to see in darker areas. Independent testing and owner feedback generally praise its manoeuvrability and effective everyday pickup, especially when compared with heavier auto-empty systems.

The dock's larger container still needs emptying and its filters require maintenance. The emptying pulse is noisy, and households with sleeping children or nervous pets may choose to disable or delay it where the controls allow. The Detect Pro can offer better value than the PowerDetect if the buyer prioritises low weight over maximum suction. It sacrifices some deep-cleaning authority and still needs space and maintenance for its dock. Choose it for flats, stairs and frequent quick cleans where convenience and manoeuvrability matter. Choose the PowerDetect for demanding carpet and pet homes, or the Stratos if a dock is unnecessary and discounted value is the priority.
