Overview and current position
Lenovo Tab Plus is an entertainment-first Android tablet built around an 11.5-inch 2K display, eight JBL-tuned speakers and an integrated kickstand. Rather than trying to be the thinnest premium tablet, it uses a thicker lower section to house larger speakers and support the stand. That makes it unusually practical for films, music, recipes and video calls on a desk, kitchen worktop or bedside table.
The model remains a current specialist option in Lenovo's UK tablet range in 2026, although Lenovo also sells newer Idea Tab, Idea Tab Pro and Yoga Tab products aimed at different performance and productivity levels. Tab Plus should therefore be judged by its audio, stand and value rather than compared as though it were Lenovo's flagship. Its MediaTek Helio G99 processor is designed for everyday use, not high-end gaming or demanding creative work.
Screen, speakers and everyday performance
The 11.5-inch LCD has a 2000 by 1200 resolution and refresh rate up to 90Hz. It is smooth enough for scrolling and casual games and sharper than many inexpensive streaming tablets, but it cannot match the black levels of Samsung's AMOLED panel or the pixel density and brightness of premium iPads. The widescreen shape works well for video, while the built-in stand avoids the cost and instability of a folding case.
The eight-speaker system is the defining feature. Four tweeters and four woofers create more volume, stereo spread and low-frequency weight than most tablets. Lenovo also allows the device to act as a Bluetooth speaker for another phone or tablet. It remains a compact device rather than a replacement for a large dedicated speaker, and sound quality changes with placement, volume and the surface behind it. The thicker speaker section also makes the body asymmetric and less comfortable for long one-handed reading.
Helio G99 performance is adequate for browsing, streaming, documents, light multitasking and casual games. Applications open less quickly than on iPad Air, Galaxy Tab S10+ or OnePlus Pad 2, and demanding 3D games may require reduced settings. Buyers who primarily want a laptop substitute should consider Lenovo's faster Idea Tab Pro or Yoga models instead. Tab Plus is strongest when the task is consuming media rather than compiling code, editing complex video or running several heavy applications.
Storage, software, accessories and battery
Configurations vary by retailer, so RAM and internal storage must be checked rather than inferred from the product name. A microSD slot allows inexpensive expansion for downloaded films, music and documents, although applications and high-speed workloads may still prefer internal storage. The tablet is normally Wi-Fi only in the UK, so travel connectivity relies on tethering or public Wi-Fi.
Lenovo supports compatible pen input, but the stylus may not be included. The integrated kickstand works well for viewing and writing at a desk, yet there is no first-party keyboard ecosystem as extensive as Apple's Magic Keyboard or Samsung's Book Cover Keyboard. Generic Bluetooth keyboards work, but they add separate charging, pairing and carrying considerations. The tablet's shape can also make universal cases fit poorly.
The 8,600mAh battery supports charging up to 45W with compatible equipment. Real endurance varies with speaker volume, 90Hz display use, brightness, gaming and standby. A charger may be included in some packages and omitted in others, so verify the UK bundle. Fast charging depends on the adaptor and cable negotiating the correct standard. The integrated battery is not user replaceable, and the tablet does not carry the same IP68 water-resistance claim as Samsung's premium models.
Software support is more limited than the longest Apple or Samsung commitments. Lenovo announced a defined Android upgrade and security-update window for Tab Plus, but buyers in 2026 should check the remaining period on Lenovo's current support pages. A low clearance price can still be good value, but older Android versions and shorter security support matter for banking, work accounts and long-term family use.
Value and verdict
Lenovo Tab Plus is the best media-focused option in this group for buyers who value speakers and a built-in stand more than raw processor speed. It is particularly suitable for kitchens, bedrooms, family streaming and music playback where an ordinary thin tablet sounds weak. The disadvantages are its uneven thickness, modest processor, variable accessory bundles and shorter software horizon.
Buy it for the distinctive hardware rather than because it is simply cheap. Confirm RAM, storage, charger and pen inclusion, and compare the final price with newer Lenovo Idea Tab models. Fire Max 11 has a narrower app ecosystem; OnePlus Pad 2 is much faster; Samsung offers OLED and an included S Pen. Tab Plus succeeds by being a useful entertainment appliance, not a premium productivity tablet.
