The kit is therefore aimed at buyers prepared to pay more upfront for several cameras, central storage and fewer routine subscriptions.
The S3 Pro remains a high-end eufy model in 2026, although eufy's range has continued to expand around less expensive C-series kits and specialist pan-and-tilt cameras. Buyers should confirm that a retailer is supplying the S3 Pro cameras with HomeBase 3 rather than a camera-only add-on. The hub is not a cosmetic accessory: it stores footage, coordinates local recognition and provides the expandable platform that justifies the kit's price. A discounted camera without the expected hub can be poor value for a first-time buyer.
Video, night vision and event capture
Each camera records at up to 4K and uses eufy's MaxColor Vision system to produce colour footage in very low ambient light. HomeBase 3 includes local storage and supports expansion with a compatible drive, making it better suited to multi-camera retention than a microSD card exposed inside an outdoor camera. Local storage is not automatically risk-free. The hub should be hidden, physically secured and backed by sensible account protection, because a burglar who takes an obvious HomeBase can remove the archive. Remote access also still depends on eufy's app, account services and the home's internet connection even though event files are stored locally.
For UK homes, camera placement must avoid unnecessary recording of neighbours, gardens and public areas. Privacy zones, narrow activity zones and a downward mounting angle reduce data collection and battery drain together. Owners should also use unique passwords, two-factor authentication, current firmware and restricted household access. Facial recognition is convenient, but household members should understand that biometric-style profiles are being created and maintained.

The S3 Pro kit is the strongest option in this category for buyers who want high-resolution outdoor coverage, central local storage and solar assistance without accepting a routine cloud fee. Its drawbacks are the high purchase price, dependence on HomeBase 3, installation sensitivity and the usual limitations of motion-triggered battery recording. It is best for two or more important approaches where running power and Ethernet is impractical. For one inexpensive camera, Tapo is simpler; for polished cloud alerts, Arlo is stronger; for a 180-degree panorama, Reolink is more specialised.
