How MainBuyer calculates ownership cost
Every recurring item must have a verified unit price, payment or replacement interval, source URL and checked date. For each horizon, MainBuyer counts the number of complete payment/replacement cycles occurring within 12, 36 or 60 months and multiplies that by the verified price and units required per cycle.
Only items marked necessary for normal use are included in required recurring-cost totals. Optional accessories are shown separately. Version 1 deliberately excludes electricity usage, unexpected repairs, inflation and future price changes because those require additional assumptions.
A figure is labelled a complete ownership estimate only when the product-level research profile is explicitly marked complete and a checked acquisition price is available. Otherwise MainBuyer shows known recurring costs without implying that the total is exhaustive.
