MainBuyer Canada Price Index
A transparent view of the retailer prices MainBuyer has actually recorded in Canada. The index highlights tracked products, recorded price movements and the largest observed drops without filling gaps with estimated data.
No publishable Canada Price Index data yet
MainBuyer will publish this market index only from real timestamped price observations. Until those checks exist, this page stays out of search results rather than presenting estimated or borrowed prices.
What the MainBuyer Price Index means
The MainBuyer Price Index is a first-party shopping-price dataset, not an official inflation measure. It uses timestamped retailer observations recorded by MainBuyer for the selected country. Only in-stock observations with a real recorded price are included on this public page.
Amazon observations are excluded from the public index under MainBuyer's current marketplace-price policy. For each product, movement compares the earliest and latest publishable observation in our dataset. The headline movement is the median of those product-level percentage changes, which prevents one unusually expensive product from dominating the figure.
Missing dates remain missing. We do not interpolate prices between checks, manufacture a historical series, or claim that a recorded retailer price represents every seller in the market.
For individual buying decisions, compare the current retailer options on each product page and use its category price comparison alongside the historical evidence.
